The NHRA did everything they could to get the racing in and when they started reaching over the edge of safety, they called Sunday a day.

If it hadnt rained on Sunday, it was becoming clear to them, Sunday just couldn't happen.

The NHRA could have called the event on Friday and brought back the next weekend, and probably could have put themselves on the improved profit/loss ratio, but instead tried to wait it out for the racers and fans. This was a no-win situation for them.

I felt Asher had some good observations.

...That $26 Ticket is a deal.!...Kudos really!

...and somebody mentioned the fuel bill for the track dryers...:(

Good grief people, your hatred of Tom Compton aside, GET A GRIP!!!!

I think the operations people of NHRA are doing the best they can with a miserable situation. The weather sucked, and there's not much they can do about it.

Life goes on folks.

Unless you live in Australia, at least you're not losing your house to wildfires.:(

The season is on, we've got racing, we're eating good, and we haven't assumed ambient temperature yet.:)

Things COULD be worse.

I am sure NHRA is banking money off this weekend, exactly as they planned

I would imagine they will bank a big fat loss. Unless God gets in the racing business, the weather will always be a factor you can do nothing about. Take it from somebody who has run a drag strip and done outdoor car show stuff for years--nobody wins in a rain out.:(

Did they open the reserved seating up and let you sit anywhere ? If they make you sit where you're supposed to when the place is empty - that's bull.

The times i've been there when they finished it on a weekday I had the run of the place. Probably could have watched from the tower if i'd wanted.
It was great to have the laid back atmosphere.

People just trash NHRA for anything dont they even if its not there fault , what are they supposed to do about rain you can't control weather .

Hopefully NHRA can recoup some of their money In Gainesville, with nice sunny conditions all weekend.Of course I'm all for that since I'll be there.
