Looking like the first race of the season is going to be the Monday Nationals. The forecast for today looks quite wet until late afternoon. Any word from those of you that are on location?

They are starting 30 minutes early to try and get in as much racing as possible before the rain comes.

The plan as always is to race today, we are drying now and will start as soon as we get it dry. The pros will turn around in 60 minutes and we will complete everything we can. If we run out of time or the weather gets us then we would move to plan B
But what plan B is will depend on what happens. If we never do a burnout today plan B is one thing, If we run 3 rounds plan B would probably be something else.

But as of right now at 10:20 local time the plan is to dry and race. There is no plan B.

Thanks for the update Alan! Hope it holds off!

With the first round of TF almost complete, the clouds started to leak again. The forecast is showing rain until around 4pm. If there is no clearing prior, will the NHRA race into the night to complete eliminations, come back on Monday, come back next weekend, or run an event within another event like at Wild Horse in two weeks? I've been at Pomona before where they came back and concluded the event on Monday.

Sometimes you have to wait to see what the question is before you ask for an answer (a source of a number of disagreements between me and Jenifer)....

so john force Q 13th with a 4.10 @ a whopping 330.23 mph. today he goes 3.89 @ 333.74 in rnd. 1, then mph fell off the next 2 rnds......
just sayin', IMO that car has got something again. he's got courtney's magic power. not to be confused with triumph's ;)
