In regard to rumors about SCAG, on Facebook Mike Ashley made it sound as though their partnership with SCAG wasn't leaving for anywhere.

From a personal standpoint, I hear things and I see things.

One thing is for certain, it'll be a cold day in hell before you see one of those mowers in my garage.

when there's 14 full time teams and two of them are the dunn car and dave richards, somebody's got to be 11th and 12th.
kudos to paul lee, cruz, chad green, and spencer hyde. these guys have won some rounds this year.
paul got bit last year i think and missed making the 'playoffs' by missing one 'reg. season' race.
i would love to see all 4 of them win 4 or more rounds in the last two races. cruzer, chad, then jack have won the last 3 finals.

Why do some of you think somebody has to be "Wrong" here?

It obviously varies from business to business, but: "If you ever want to make a change, give me a call" is a daily occurence. It was when I was in the construction business and it is in the racing business.

I would be surprised if Tony Smith has never been told that if he wanted to race full time there was a team that had a place for him. Would it be wrong for a full time team to tell him that? I don't think so.

If I work for ABC company and XYZ offers me a job. Nobody did anything wrong.
If I decided that the XYZ offer is good and accept it. Nobody did anything wrong.
I could tell ABC that XYZ made an offer and give them a chance to match it, but it's not required.
If I tell ABC: "I'm giving notice, I have accepted another positi0n." Nobody did anything wrong.
If ABC says: "We are teminating this relationship now." Nobody did anything wrong.
Did they?

I have no idea how this all went down, but I don't automatically think someone is wrong. Sometimes, business is just business.

I bought and sold used vehicle trade-ins from new car dealers for 36 years. Almost every day I was behind the scenes in a managers office waiting my turn. Can't think of too many business's whose revolving door spins faster the a new car dealship.

on the surface it sounds like sour grapes and spitefulness, assuming Green was let go and didn't leave voluntarily . That team has a 'punters chance' of winning the championship and i'm sure the changing of crewcheifs with 2 races to go is not gonna benefit that cause

Good choice. I have a John Deere because my Bolens died mysteriously after I left it outside during lunch. I think my a**hole neighbor sabotaged the oil ... it blew up on me as soon as I started mowing again. Probably because I rolled his fingers up in my power window when he tried to choke me.... because he had a lot of corona....not the virus the beer.

As a business owner, I would never fault or retaliate against someone within the organization for determining their worth in the industry.

No truer words were ever spoken. I've sold for new car stores, partnered in one, been an independent UC dealer for 39 years. But I've never been a manager at one and looking back at what that entails, never would.

Management changes more often than I change socks, one dealership 'stealing' them from another. A new-car manager, used car manager or GSM that's been at one place for 5 years or more is almost unheard of. They either get burned out (75 hours a week is common) or offered a better deal elsewhere which rarely turns out to be a smart move.

Maybe that is the reason Scag left Elite as Jegs sponsor. We need good rivalries in drag racing.

I was kind of thinking along these lines for reasoning to leave..... Maybe because I've spent my entire career in car dealerships LOL.

I’ve seen some crazy crazy stuff posted all over the place about all aspects of this deal. I don’t think it’s too complicated.


Reasons to leave a team with no question the best leaver, it generally runs pretty good, and can win several races a year if not the championship if things fall their way. I feel they have built a quality team, with a good crew as well.

#1 Obviously money. Can't blame anybody for that. However...

For Mike Green- Got paired up with Austin Prock partway through 2019, then looked to be off to a great 2020 with Austin, and well 2020 happened. Came back out with Tony Schumacher for the last handful of 2020 events. Then for 2021 went to work for Justin's team. How many times has this team changed hands so to speak since? (on the surface anyway) From memory- Dustin Davis, then Jim Epler was brought in with Dustin. Then it was JCM, and formed MAR (Maynard/Ashley Racing) then the SCAG deal... So a lot happening there over the last few years, and for Mike himself even longer than that. It could be as simple as Richard Freeman and Elite having some stability in the years to come. I think that goes a long way in this case.
