Mel Bush Motorsports Looking To Rebound at Sooner Nationals in Tulsa

<P>Elma, NY- After both Mel Bush Motorsports drivers exited the recently completed Northern Nationals in the first round, crew chiefs for both Mel Bush and Tommy D'Aprile are eager to return to IHRA action.
Bush at the wheel of his Nitrous Injected Top Sportsman '62 Bel Air has proven to be one of the best leavers in the class, but consistency has been lacking this season. James Shremmer, Crew Chief for Mel Bush's Top Sportsman effort, feels the team can perform with the top of the class. "Mel's operation is second to none we have all the equipment we need to win races and Mel's driving skills are as good as any one's out here, it's just been small human errors that have been keeping us from going rounds. We just need to focus on going rounds and nothing else. As a team, if we focus on that I think we'll do well in Tulsa," said Shremmer.
Mel Bush's Pro Modified Team led by driver, Tommy D'Aprile fell off their game at the Martin event. After qualifying his Jan-Cen prepared entry in the top half of the field D'Aprile lost in round one to Thomas Patterson. "Things just weren't clicking for us in Martin and it cost us, but that's behind us now and we still have three races left to make up some ground in the points. This race will be a tuners race and I feel we're ready for it," said Crew Chief Kevin Peters.
The IHRA Skull Shine Sooner Nationals will be held at Tulsa Raceway Park in Tulsa, Oklahoma from August 22nd thru the 24th. Pro Qualifying is scheduled for two sessions on Friday, 2:00 PM & 6:30 PM, with two more on Saturday, 2:00 PM & 6:30 PM. Eliminations are scheduled to begin Sunday at 11:00 AM.
