<P> (9/3/08) Elma, NY – After their semi-final appearance in Tulsa the Mel Bush Motorsports team is looking to build momentum in the final stretch. With only two races left D'Aprile sits third in IHRA Nitro Jam Pro Modified Points and still has a chance at this years title.

Team owner Mel Bush is confident in his crew's dedication. "It's an up hill battle but I think this team is willing to do what it takes to stay in the hunt," said Bush. "From the guys at Jan-Cen to Fred, Mike, Ron and Jimmy at the track I feel we have one of the best group of guys in the class behind this car, not to mention a heck of a driver."

Driver, Tommy D'Aprile always keeps an upbeat and positive attitude and when it comes to his race team he has obvious reasons for his confidence especially when you realize Mel Bush Motorsports has Two-time IHRA Pro Modified Series Champ, Mike Janis and the team at Jan-Cen Motorsports taking care of maintaining the fan favorite Bel Air driven by "Tommy D". "Being able to just drive the car has been a breath of fresh air," said D'Aprile. "Don't get me wrong, I pitch in where ever I may be needed, but being confident that I have the best ride possible under me makes it easier for me to focus on my main job of driving. With the points title still available it's nice knowing we have a great group of guys behind the scenes," said D'Aprile.

Team Owner, Mel Bush will also be in competition at the Amalie Oil North American Nationals with his nitrous injected Top Sportsman entry. Sportsman qualifying will begin Friday with back to back rounds at 9:00 AM. The final qualifying session will be Saturday evening at 6:15 PM. Elimination rounds will begin Saturday at 9:00 AM.

The IHRA Amalie Oil North American Nationals will be held at New England Dragway in Epping, New Hampshire from September 5th thru the 7th. Pro Qualifying is scheduled for two sessions on Friday, 2:00 PM & 7:00 PM, with two more on Saturday, 2:00 PM & 7:00 PM. Eliminations are scheduled to begin Sunday at noon.
