The 2007 NHRA POWERade Pro Stock Motorcycle Champion heads into Chicago this weekend with one thing on his mind and that is to win. Smith has already won once this year, but feels that bad luck has struck him of a win a few times.
“We have been running real strong so far,” said Smith. “At a few races we have had minor issues on the bike, which have cost us the round. There is nothing we can do about bad luck or random mishaps, but we are going to do everything possibly to make sure that everything is perfect on this Nitrofish Buell before we run each pass.”
With three weeks off in between races, Smith is itching to get back at it.
“We have been pretty busy the last few weeks,” said Smith. “Between media obligations and testing my days have been full. I will be glad to get back to the track and let the hard work show on the racetrack.”
Smith sits in the second position, just 56 points out of the lead and he hopes to gain ground this weekend at the NHRA Nationals at Route 66 Raceway.
