Hey Darr, what's the story with the "Nitro Angel" moniker? Is the "Bomb Squad" name gone for good?

Yep, the name is changed for good. When MIke McCain bought the car he wanted to change the name then. "Nitro Angel" is to bring awareness for the Angelman Syndrome Foundation, Inc.

McCain's grandson Cody has Angelman Syndrome (AS) it is a neuro-genetic disorder that occurs in 1 in 15,000 live births. AS is often misdiagnosed as cerebral palsy or autism. Characteristics of AS include; developmental delay, lack of speech, seizures, and walking and balance disorders. Individuals with Angelman Syndrome will require life-long care.

McCain's "Nitro Angel" sponsors include; Jegs High Performance, Lucas Oil Company, Mickey Thompson Tires, Justice Brothers Car Care Products, Strange Engineering, Hedman Hedders and Nelson Racing, LLC, they allow the team to race Mike’s Nitro Funny Car to bring awareness for the Angelman Syndrome Foundation, Inc.
