Lucas posts first-round finish

Memphis, TN (9/28/08): Morgan Lucas was defeated on Sunday in the first round of eliminations in the 21st annual O’Reilly Mid-South Nationals at Memphis Motorsports Park.
In the that opening round of competition, Lucas left the starting line first (.064 - .088) against opponent, Hillary Will and led up until the Lucas Oil driver’s dragster lost traction spinning the tires around 300 feet out granting clear passage to Will in taking the win. She ran a time of 3.892 seconds, 306.81 mph to Lucas’ time of 5.588 seconds, 118.79 mph.
The 24-year old Lucas qualified in the No. 15 position with an elapsed time of 4.001 seconds, 291.38 mph.
Lucas holds the No. 12 position in the drag racing POWERade points standings with 830 after the finish of 21 of 24 National events
