I see they moved it back from bradenton - but still no top alcohol cars on the schedule.

The fastest cars the NHRA has in true, quarter-mile competition are the Top Alcohol cars.
We need to show our support for these racers to the NHRA and to the track owners.
I spend Father's Day each year at Bandimere Speedway to see them at the LODRS meet "Thunder on the Mountain." The field is, usually, small but the racing is good.
The LODRS format may not be ideal for showcasing these cars as there are so many Sportsman classes which compete at them. The NHRA's efforts to support Top Alcohol with a regional system may prove to be the approach when coupled with selected Lucas Oil races. I hope so and will support such events as much as I am able.

I agree totally Ed that's why I was asking why they are not there. I know they stopped having them back when orlando still had the armco, but they have put in a proper guardwall now so I was hoping they'd return.

I'll have to go to gainesville.

Last year in Orlando they had 8 dragsters and 3 funny cars. So are you telling me that you were going to the race just to watch those 11 cars?

At Brainerd the count was 5 dragsters and 7 Funny Cars

The hope of the new regional program is that the events that do run the Alcohol cars will have full fields, and better racing. Plus some of the smaller tracks were really having a tough time with the added expense of the alcohol purse.

I'm not saying the new plan is perfect, and it may take some tweaking, but I think it's worth trying. Personally I would rather have a few races with full, competitive fields than a ton of races with weak fields, and some of them were REALLY weak........

Which is exactly why they stopped running nitro cars at divisional events back in the day, and that turned out OK for all involved.

Div. 2 Alky racing has been sorry for years, especially Alky FC! When Jay Payne and and other hitters claim that Div. It's for a Reason!

it was bradenton last year. I live 30 minutes from the orlando track. yes I would go there and spend 25 bucks to see an 8 car top alcohol show.
