Live Timing

If I were Motorola I would be at the NHRA front desk with my lawyer asking where's the live timing? You would think that the service I am sponsoring would be broadcast simultaneously with the audiocast and not lagging behind 2 or 3 minutes.I would demand it be presented properly in the standard that makes the sport what it is,precise!

Do you really think Motorola is sponsoring it ???
Or did Motorola get paid to develop the system ? Live Timing sure doesn't understand the Super classes or handicap racing in Stock or Super Stock with the breakouts !!
This system is why NHRA wanted the Icard system GONE..&^$@$#..:o:mad:

Live timing was a real bust. Most of the time it either didn't work at all or it was way behind the audio. I had to constantly turn it off then back on and you never knew what you were going to get.
Guess I shouldn't have expected anything different from the inept so called management at NHRA.
If they are going to come out with something new they should do significant beta testing before putting it out for everyone to laugh at.
If they implement new engine rules for T/F and F/C like they implemented this the bad reception will make the problems that Toyota and Honda have look like a good day at the office.

Yea! You would think by now that the NHRA would learn that to solve a problem all they have to do is consult the numerous expert chronic-complainers and second-guessers that post on the NitroWhiner.

I commented Saturday that Live Timing was running about two minutes behind the Audiocast, but didn't push the issue because I didn't know if it was an issue with my computer. I also didn't want to sound like a chronic complainer or second-guesser.
That being said, it got much worse on Sunday. I fought with trying to login to the Audiocast and view Live Timing on Thursday and Friday - it wouldn't work. I pay my NHRA dues so I can listen to Alan and Bob and feel members deserve better than this.
NASCAR, the IRL and F1 have had live timing and scoring of 20 to 43 cars on track for years - this is a LOT more complicated than reporting results of two cars going down the track every minute or so.
If I'm a chronic-complainer or second-guesser . . . so be it. After watching "Coming Soon" for a year, this was a miserable failure. NHRA - if you can't get this right, admit it and fix it. End of rant and venting.
