Thought the whole show was great. Opening announcers introductions was different- I liked it. How about no face shots of Page and Dunn, But both did a good job as usual, even Page. He just grows on ya.... Liked the extended pit shots.... Tony Shoes team is amaxing. Just think if this was Pro Cycle he would be be getting extra weight soon.... The Snakes team sure rebounded well today with after 2 first round losses and may have found something with a graet .55 in the semi's... Great job Melanie! Just think how it would have been if Ashley Force did not have the first female winner in a FC a few races ago. Talk about coming out of nowhere.... Hats off to the duece for staying with it throughout all the rain, just wonder what would have happened if a west coast baseball game or the NBA was scheduled instead of Poker. For once it worked in our favor.... Best quote of the day by Mike Neff "I'm pissed". Nuff said.

I've been real skeptical about ESPN and NHRA about there coverage and the way the races have been ran, track prep. The race, track prep and coverage were exceptional today. You know it might just be possible that they have been listening:) well the maters should stand tall with their heads up for having press their concerns and just hope it did make a difference and it will carry on from here:D.

A great show.I loved the extended pit coverage.

Now you all be sure to let ESPN2 know you liked tonight's coverage by sending THEM kudos. Don't just keep it here.

Maybe they are listening to the people that matter the most. The fan base has requested these types of shows and I readily admit, they delivered on this one!

Nicely done ESPN2! Keep the momentum going. :)

I bet there's a few thousand Poker fanatics out there cussing us up and down. :D I too was happy with the way the whole day was handled on TV. They even made it appear on TV as if they were truly in a rain delay on the telecast. It would have been easy to just edit all the runs together to make the time slot. But I think they did very well. And well worth the wait to see Troxel finally win one... just like she used to do at the High School Drags on Bandimere!

I really liked the coverage. Page didn't even get on my nerves this time.
THe behind the scenes was stuff I think most of us knew but it was still a great perpesctive and very enjoyable to watch.

I'm very glad ESPN 2 stuck with it and let the show run over.

Also John K needs to be a regular on the team.

I loved the way they did the opening. Especially the shot at the finish line! That was way cool.

I think this broadcast ranks right up there with some of the best they've ever done, if not THE best! From the opening, through all the pit action and interviews, down to the extended airtime. And independent teams seemed to get a lot of attention yesterday too, I might add.

Jim Head: "I'm a tightwad!!"

thank you espn2 for the extended (and live) coverage.

you think the pros ran late; did you notice the huge cleanup
going on after neff's deal?(while TV show was signing off)
wonder how late they ran to complete the whole show?

I heartily agree with everyone--a great telecast. And although some have posted that the noise of air tools becomes annoying, I really enjoyed all of the interviews in the pits with someone other than rote sponsor spouters--those guys really had something to say! And at the risk of being bombarded by posts calling me a Force hater:p it was really nice for the telecast not to be all Force all the time for a change. Great telecast, and I was thrilled they stayed with it to the end!
And, this is gonna be tough, but I'll eat a little crow here--I though Paul Page did a really good job this time and he seemed genuinely interested and excited. I'm off his case for a while...Good job Paul! Even Gary G's top end questions didn't seem quite so repetitious...Thanks ESPN2 for a great job!

I have to get in here cause I have done my share of complaining regarding late telecasts, Paul Page and pretty much anything NHRA and ESPN related.

YOU DID GOOD!!

I thought the entire telecast was done really well especially given the adverse conditions and then to get live racing at the extended end, absolutely proved to me they can do it if they want to. If NHRA was twisting their arms, instead of going to rerun poker, thanks for finally doing YOUR job.

You all know, of course by raising the bar here, you also raised our expectations for future broadcasts. Do you want to grow NHRA Drag Racing?
I think what was done last night was a start. Thanks Again!:D:D

I'm glad I set my VCR to extend until 11. And because we all appreciate that ESPN went past 10 to cover the end of the race, I hope we'll be a bit more understanding of ESPN when in a couple of weeks they cover the end of a softball game and delay the start of drag racing. Because to the fans of those softball teams, their game will be more important than our drag race, just as last night our drag race was more important than a poker tournament.

but I was disappointed that the KB Racing nitro driver didn't get any top end camera time after beating - (I believe it was Antron). they went right into funny car.

That happens to a lot of drivers believe it or not. If it doesn't jump into another class, it is a commercial and when they return, they don't air a top end interview--unless you race with John Force (I am not bashing here, just stating what I have seen for years)--then you get an interview whether you win or lose. That drives me nuts sometimes. A lot of winners don't get the interview they deserve.
I hope this recent telecast is a preview of things to come. This was a great show all in all and I enjoyed watching for a change.

Amen Lori ~ the only way I could be any happier today is if one of my 4 cars had won. Even so, THESE are the times when you're damn proud to be an NHRA fan.
