I had Lasik 10 years ago (22 yrs old). I was extremely nearsighted. Same thing, the doc said he couldn't cure aging. Today, my left eye is pretty good, but I do wear either glasses or 1 contact lens in my right eye, but the prescription is about 1/4 of what my old prescription was.
I have two Sons in law who have had Lasik and one daughter. Every one is 20/20 or better with freedom from glasses/contacts etc.
They are all young, however. Sounds like your problem is elasticity as everyone else is calling your aging condition. Since I'm old enough to be your father I'll tell you you can't stop that process. I just keep cheap reader glasses in every room of the house. The doctor told me even if I had Lasik now, that my aging/elasticity would be a constant problem.
