Where are the reasonable priced hotel/motel rooms for race weekend ??
I remember someone posted last year about a place in North Las Vegas..but can't search the old 'Mater for the info ! I can't see paying $140 for a place to sleep for 5-6 hours !! :->:)

can't help it - i think you set yourself up for this; especially in vegas.
you mite not want to pay $140 to sleep for 5-6 hours, but the next
guy will gladly pay it.......... and he's not sleeping
:D

The Cannery Hotel Casino in N. Las Vegas... it may be kinda late to get a room there now, but I'd still check it out -- it's not real expensive & many of the teams & NHRA personnel stay or visit there while in town. It's the closest hotel/casino to the track. There is also like a Best Western or something that's even closer to LVMS than the Cannery, it's on Nellis Blvd, just North of Las Vegas Blvd in front of the Nellis Super WalMart.

Other than that you can always find good deals if you look, especially in downtown Vegas.
I don't really gamble, I don't party... basically I'm pretty boring, so a Motel 6 or Holiday Inn would suite me just fine.

Hope you have a great time when you come out here.:)

Hey Naz....
Rent out sleeping bag floor space in your Garage... think 50 a night would be fair... :D

That would work if I didn't have 5 kids at home & my garage converted into 2 bedrooms...:) Talk about lack of room.
Oh & if my wife was out of town... she'd kill me.:D

If you are looking for price alone, Motel 6 is your best bet. The Cannery runs about $130 or so per nite. Have fun! :)

Your best bet for reasonable rates are places like Motel 6 or Rodeway Inn. Even then your looking at $70 a night or higher in Vegas.

I have stayed at the Ramada Raceway Inn, or whatever it is for 59.95, not bad actually. It's close to the track also. I prefer to stay on the strip though. Monte Carlo once, and Stratosphere another time. Both nice places.

We Have Stayed At The Cannery Several Times We Never Paid Near $130.00 Always Under $100.$59 To $89 Plus Tax

The El Cortez off the end of Freemont St. $30 or less per night. Mouse traps and roach spray available in the gift shop. :D

I know the Vegas strip is pretty far from the track, but I just came back from Vegas last friday and stayed at Circus Circus for around 50 bucks a night. And no, it wasnt part of a "package" deal, just hotel.

Cannery

I'm like Donnie... when or where did you see $130 for the Cannery? I work there, and though I don't usu. deal with the front desk or room reservations, the last I heard avg. room prices were around $80-$89. I'm sure race weekend will be a little more than the average rate, but $130 I've never heard.

I'll find out what's avalible & how expensive they are within the next few days.

btw Patty, I'm not doubting you, I've just never seen those prices there.:)

You're right, you can get some great rates at Circus Circus... but as far as I'm concerned that place is a dump (from my previous experiences). Granted I've not been there for a few years...

How was your stay there Tim?

Hey, no worries.:) I have a room for race weekend & that is the "best price" I was told by the reservations manager for that weekend.

Wow, I guess they've gotten hip to the race crowds in April & October... sorry they're charging you so much. Are you staying there... if so come & see me in the Casino Cage... I run the graveyard shift 10/11pm until whenever... I'll get you a comp to eat in one of our resturants.

Cool, thanks! I'll take you up on that.

Cheapest hotel rates we`ve ever got for any Vegas race was at the Fitzgeralds down on Femont, it actually wasn`t that bad, just make sure to get a room away from the Fremont Street EXperience. It gets loud as hell when that thing starts up! Usually we`re at the Las Vegas Hilton, and it`s around $149 for all three nights, but you have to be in the Players Club to get that rate. I`d check the Orleans or the Motel 6 on Tropicana also.
