That picture just took my breath away! That is stunning to look at. Thankful he is ok.

Thank goodness he is ok. Looks like the car broke right in front of the drivers foot box. Also, this crash looks similar to the crash he had several years ago when he still drove the miller lite car for Don Phrudomme in Memphis when he broke his leg. Which was the same race where Tony Shumacher had his bad crash the next day.

It looked like the chassis broke just as it passed over the bump at the 660 timing block.

So happy that Larry's okay.

Very lucky. He almost went over the left retaining wall - would have been much worse than it was.

Brent, thanks for the links. WOW talk about ugly. Look how close it came to the other car when it came down. We could have lost 2 drivers today folks.

Interview with Dixon afterwards

So incredibly lucky. He didn't hit Kalitta, the car was once upside down, spun back around to land on tires which soften the blow. Amazing that he walked away. This is where we thanks those that we've lost before and the lessons we've learned from that

What a shot. Looking at that pic makes it's amazing Larry didn't sustain feet or leg injuries. Thank God he walked away.

Uncomprehensible to see it live, we were high up in the racers section and it happened right in front of us. I was looking right at Dixons car when it broke up but it happened so fast, it was like an explosion and you didn't understand what really happened until the replay. Very very uncomfortable until things cleared up. Cool thing was that when the camera trained in on Larry in the cockpit after they knew he was OK, his helmet was off, he already his hat on and "just" got out.
