Langdon Final Round Run Under Review

Honestly, I thought this was just payback for Shawn not holding up the can of (title sponsor of the race) American Rebel after they put it in his hand during the post-win interview...😉

did you notice the guy turning the can around so the label was showing on Gaige's interview.

Sure did... Now it is CRITICALLY important to have the winners properly represent the sponsor of the race in their Nationally- broadcast Win interview. That is Marketing 101, and for every driver that can rattle off 15 sponsor names after a round win, the ONE thing they can do is hold the product inside the camera shot for 15 seconds.

Are those bolts assembled dry or is there anything on the threads to lessen the chance of them backing out?

Just thinking, they might have been on belly pan before the run, glad nothing bad happened, really sucks to lose one that way
I don't know what other teams do when it comes to the cover bolts. We pull into the staging lanes with the cover bolts installed, but loose. That way we can get in there a little quicker to make a change. There's a crew member who's responsibility is to tighten those cover nuts when we are 2 - 3 pairs away from the water box. So in our case, someone would've had to forgotten to tighten them or maybe dropped some in the belly pan upon reinstalling the cover after a change on the clutch.

Yeah that's a tough one. I would be crushed. The more I think about it, I understand NHRA's position on the ruling. It's unfortunate this violation happened during an elimination round.

I'll bet that guy on Shawn's team will have a pocket full of spares from now on.

Thanks for the insight on how that might happened
