Las Vegas - Kenny Koretsky negotiated a tricky race track in Saturday's final qualifying session with a 6.788-second elapsed time and it boosted his confidence going into Sunday's SummitRacing.com Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
"We were one of the fastest in that last session and that was a good sign," said Koretsky, who was 13th at 6.780 at 204.46 mph. "We are creeping up on the tune-up. We missed it a little on the tune-up Friday night and that hurt our chances of qualifying in the top half of the field. I was wondering about Bill (Windham, his teammate who had a wild ride four runs earlier) and wasn't concentrating like I should've been."
He races Greg Anderson, No. 3, 6.737 at 203.46 mph.
"Maybe we can catch a break," added Koretsky. "The fact we are in the field is a good sign. You can win from any spot."
