Koretsky Winds Up No. 8 after CSK Nationals Qualifying
Pennsylvania Pro Stock Driver Meets Connolly in First Round

CHANDLER, Ariz. - Kenny Koretsky's quickest run of Checkers Schuck's Kragen Nationals qualifying (6.659 seconds at 207.59 mph) was good enough for eighth place in the Sunday's starting line-up, but it was his final Saturday effort that was impressive.

Koretsky, or Richboro, Pa., drove Greg Hill's Indicom Electric/Nitro Fish Chevy Cobalt to a 6.666-second time on the last qualifying attempt and it turned out to be the second-quickest of the session, a good sign as crew chiefs Eddie Guarnaccia and Tomi Laine prepared for eliminations.

"We'll be able to take that into race day," said Guarnaccia. "It is also good to get lane choice in the first round. We have a good car to work with. The crew is working well together and we learned something from every run we made."

Weather conditions changed quite a bit from Friday's racer-friendly cool temperatures and clouds to sunny and warm and a slicker racing surface.

Koretsky races Dave Connolly (No. 9, 6.660 at 207.78 mph) in the opening round.
