Indicom Electric/Nitro Fish Cobalt Runs 7.047 Seconds in Altitude

DENVER, July 14, 2007 -- How well did Mopar Mile-High Nationals qualifying go for Kenny Koretsky at Bandimere Speedway? Well, the driver from Richboro, Pa., was the first to break the track record (7.062 seconds) when he ran 7.047 seconds at 195.03 mph Friday night in the oxygen-starved atmospheric conditions in mile-high country.

That elapsed time put him third overall, one of his finest qualifying efforts. He runs Max Naylor (14th, 7.096 at 194.52 mph) in Sunday's opening round.

Koretsky also ran 7.130 seconds and shut off early on Saturday's first run. "Eddie (Guarnaccia, crew chief) made the decision because he wanted to conserve our motors," said Koretsky. "We are extremely happy with the way the car is running."

Koretsky is coming off an impressive performance last week at Bristol, Tenn., when he drove his way to his second career final round and lost the final round by two-thousandths of a second.
