<<All fans have to do to “jump the line” in front of the general public is make a deposit of $19.61, which commemorates the first Winternationals in 1961. This select group will then have the ability to select their seats Sept. 8-11, 2009, four days before tickets go on sale to the public (Sept. 15, 2009).>>

WTF? Lately at Pomona, one can stake out enough open area to have a pretty sporty 3 on 3 basketball game in the stands between pro runs. On my last Friday run to Big Go West, some dude was giving away tickets on the trolley ride from BF Egypt parking.

Word to NHRA marketers...If you go to a race or two and see what the product you are trying to sell is, you might understand the allure of NHRA racing and you won't have any trouble putting butts in the seat, so long as you are appropriately pricing your seats. $10+ for parking plus the $50 plus for a rare and precious Sunday seat is WAY out of the realm of reason.

Hey, here is an idea for the Mad Men who run NHRA marketing, how about bringing back 1961 ticket pricing. Guaranteed sell out.
