Josh Hernandez struggled to keep his '68 Camaro in the groove in his only qualifying pass on Friday, ending with a 7.269/140.40 which was still good enough to hold on to the provisional No. 13 spot.
"The car started to head for the centerline after about 330 feet, and I fought with it to get it back, but I had to peddle it to get it back into the groove, and that cost us a good time in the run," Hernandez said.
"I know that I've got a great hot rod, and Howard Moon will give me the horsepower tomorrow to get it down the track under full power. I'm hoping we get at least one round of qualifying in tomorrow, because I really don't like sitting around watching it rain. And, I know there are a lot of people coming from AMS and TLR, so I want them all to have a good time and see some racing."
