It's an obvious decision why the RJ team isn't running the remainder of the races. If you look at the schedule they have to travel to the south, to the east, and all the way to the west coast to finish a few races, not to mention the trip back from Pomona. With them switching to GM and preparing an in house engine program it makes more sense to spend the money on r&d and the time is much better spent in the shop then working on a combination they won't even be running next year. If Edwards wasn't breaking everyones back I'm sure they would be there but in KJ's own words they are just running for second place. If Mike stays .020 on the tree and doesn't break parts nobody will touch him. Team quarter max met and exceeded their season goals so I'm sure it wasn't a hard decision for them. They will be in much better shape heading into 2010 by missing the remainder of the races for r&d. Just look at Tom Hammonds, the time they spent in the shop has obviously benefited their program.
