We lost John Hagen 25 years ago today.

A good man. A great person. One hell of a racer.

Hard to see your boyhood hero go while you are standing right there.

Will always be missed.

When I was about 9 years old, I got a picture of his car (I think it was a '72 or '73 Duster he was running at the time) and autograph from John at Minnesota Dragways. It was the first time I ever got something like that and instantly made him a favorite of mine. To this day, I regret not knowing whatever became of it.

It was the second NorthStar Nationals. He was a regular at Thunder Valley Dragway in Marion, SD. for any Pro Stock events. RIP John
