John Force 3.987/323.50. THE NEW PROCK ROCKET!

Never trust what you read in the media. From NBC Sports. Read it carefully. :D

"Friday marked a big day for the father-and-son team of John and Courtney Force at the Auto-Plus NHRA Nationals in Maple Grove, Pa. in their Castrol and Traxxas Fords."

Wow, someone needs to send this writer a copy of ESPN Magazine with Courtney on the cover!! :D ;)

I was there at the top end and I'll say those two went by like a sonic boom. Am I crazy, or didn't I read earlier this morning that Brockmeyer believed the run was legit, and he had never seen a car pull that hard before???

He was telling the truth....not many people have seen a FC, let alone two of them side by side, run 320+ at 1000 feet. That's haulin' the mail.

Courtney's team should have data from the front wheel sensors and driveshaft that shows exactly how fast that car was going. Maybe they'll share it later on.

Well compulink says it's just a mirage on the track... A 329 mph oasis with a palm tree and a Traxis sticker on the side.

What a crock. The sun bounced under a bouncing car and confused the infrared.........:confused::confused:

Close to 1,000 passes yesterday and this happened...............once.?

Imagine how us NHRA photogs feel to have the use of camera flash banned because in all the millions (literally) of runs in the last 10 years on multiple tracks around the country that there has been a red light issue two times, both of which occurring with the same exact comp eliminator car in the same exact lane at the same exact track....

Crazy eh?!

I had a gut feeling all along...329? Advantages like that in this sport in this era just do not happen anymore. Only advantage like that I have even seen hold up "Legally" is the national record in Pro Stock Motorcycle last season...ahem I mean Harley Davidson Pro Stock Motorcycle class of 2012.

Smells fishy to me. First the Compulink man himself deemed it legit.
Second he does an about face with NO evidence.

Brockmeyer states "the sun PROBABLY bounced underneath..." (later same sentence) "it PROBABLY didn't bounce over the beam....". Two probablys, where's the proof, the evidence.

Shouldn't there be irrefutable proof before you reverse the original call??

Nunzio, I was there also, and the minute the speed popped up I knew it was bogus. In this day where the performance is restricted by the sanctioning body a huge leap like that isn't likely especially in not ideal conditions. If she would have ran that type of speed last year in Reading on Sunday or Monday it would have been a little more believable. I had the NHRA app up and saw the incrementals with John vs. Courtney and it just didn't add up.

Remember all the people who say "Slow em down, the average Joe can't tell the speed anyways." "If you turned off the clocks you can't tell 320 from 300." That's the damn truth. Look at Grubnic going down the track right after John and Courtney. You watch that thing on ESPN3 with the camera focused on it and look at those tires grip and distort and the header flames high in the air and think "wow what a pass!" 3.91 @ 309mph pops up on the scoreboard. Now I don't know how Courtney "Thundered on past John" for the simple fact that she was never behind him the entire run. She had the holeshot and beat him to the finish line. Maybe she stayed in it a little longer or was later on the chutes. Now where was Mr. Brockmeyer standing? Was he at the finish line? He could discern a 329mph pass in the less than .5 of a second that car went flying past him? Come on people where is your common sense? The theory as to why it is bogus may be bogus, but no way did that car go that fast.

Well Dave, you make a lot of sense, but 329 was just enough to be believable, vs, say, 335. And of course, we want to believe. What everyone is forgetting is THE most important thing that was learned this weekend. Courtney is Force's SON?!! So the crush that I've had on her means...oh geez now I need counseling...
