John Bandimere's reaction to 1000 ft

There's a speed trap at 660', none at 1000' at any track I've ever seen or heard of.

All that stuff shows up on the "game boy".

Mike Dunn IS always announcing 1000 ft times.

You are right.! The "B" family has dedicated their lives to to good of the sport.
My question would be,
Why all of the bellyaching in the papers...if these moves WILL save his friends and SPORT.?
Please dont have my scenerio lost in political BS.
If something went over the birm in Denver...we may all have to find a different sport to love!!! THAT was my point!

from what I see on google earth, the shutdown at bandimere is longer than Etown, and the sand trap is much bigger. and it has three catch fences....not one.

I think John was just concerned his would be the only event that the nitro cars ran 1000'. Like Denver was being singled out. Now that it looks like it will be 1000' feet for the rest of the year he's fine. John has no reservations about improving the facility. The extended forecast is for temps in the low
80s which combined with the cooling of the track should make it quite quick.

think his comments had more to do with the fact he was about to run 4th of july jet car show to 1320 . If he agreed with it, he'd have to change that event's distance too.

I was going to comment on your attack on John Bandimere, but, since you are unable to distinguish between 1000' ETs and 1000' Speeds, I'll let that stand as a "consider the source" example.

I could be wrong, but I think jet cars have sanctioning body imposed speed limits on them, and jets aren't nitro cars running at a national event.

I'm not an amazing man by any stretch. Given my belief that most readers of this forum have a modicum of intelligence, "consider the source" is based upon previous publicly expressed ignorance. If you need specifics, there are no sportsman pits below the end of the strip at Bandimere. In fact, there are no sportsman pits below any part of the actual strip, period.

directly on the other side of that berm at the end of the strip is some sportman pits.
unless they've moved 'em someplace else recently.
