Joe Baker Blasts to No 4 in Madison (1 Viewer)

[coverattach=1]MADISON, Ill. (May 2, 2009) – Mike Ashley Racing Pro Mod driver Joe baker drove his Matco Tools/Lend America ’68 Camaro Pro Mod to a personal best and earned the No. 4 qualifying spot in the Get Screened America Pro Mod Challenge presented by ProCare Rx at the O'Reilly NHRA Midwest Nationals.

After struggling the first round today with tire shake, Baker rebounded in his Chuck Ford-tuned hot rod and blasted to a 5.957/242.45 and set his personal quickest time.

“The track and the conditions were excellent today, especially in the second round,” Baker said. “Chuck had us tuned up tight and ready to roll – and we just really had a great run.

“I’ve got to give all the credit to Chuck and the team – they did an incredible job putting this Matco Tools Camaro into the show for tomorrow. Now I just have to do my job when the green light comes on Sunday,” Baker said.

Baker will face Pro Mod Challenge newcomer Kirk Wilmes in the first round of eliminations Sunday, scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
