LOL
It didn't have 3 or 4 holes out. I watched it again; it didn't have any holes out. It ran a tenth quicker than the runner-up....4.00/311 on a track hot enough to cook a steak on....so yeah, the mistake needed to be addressed but I don't think the crew member needs to be castrated over it. I've seen worse - Kenny Bernstein was once shut off upon firing up his TF dragster after it was rushed to the staging lanes for the final round - no time for a pit warmup - because someone forgot to put oil in it. Now THAT would warrant a righteous ass chewing.

Oh man, no oil - never heard about that one. Reminds me of a guy I know who forgot to put the plug back in the pan, and the new oil just ran right out. He was mad but the rest of us laughed heartily.

The weirdest thing I can recall was what I think was a shop towel getting sucked into the intake of a Pro Stock Motorcyle at the line, and shredded right out the back. Needless to say that run wasn't. Seems like it wasn't that long ago, maybe within the past 5-6 years?

Prolong oil additive was a sponsor of Kenny's at the time and they ran TV commercials running engines without oil, but apparently Kenny wasn't a true believer.

I remember that. I want to say it was Matt Smith but not sure.

Jimmy Prock starting line interview template:

Interviewer : “Jimmy, that run looked (pretty good/bad, can you tell us what happened / what to expect later in the round?)”
Prock: (throaty monotone) “AH YEAHH, WE HAD IT SET TO RUN ABOUT A (#, random statement) YAH KNOW, AYAND AHH (insert other randomness here), AYAND WE’LL GO BACK AND TAKE A LOOK AT THE NUMBERS.” -frowns and stalks off.

Love it.😊

Assistant CC Thomas Prock explained the timing incident this afternoon stating that while they need to ensure it doesn't happen again he didn't believe it had any effect on the run either good or bad. One way to get your old man off your case......LOL

One – I’m glad they caught this whole incident on TV, as this is the behind-the-scenes aspect of the sport we all love. It’s a public event, and the whole reason it exists is for our entertainment. That’s why we share our stories here. Two – I am super glad that Brian Lohnes and Tony Pedregon discussed it, and gave an explanation as to what happened at the following race this past weekend. Thankfully, as mentioned above, the incident was questioned directly to Thomas Prock on the Fox broadcast. Kudos to the broadcasting crew for catching the incident originally, bringing this all to our living rooms, and for discussing it in depth and giving us all the behind-the-scenes story.
