Has anybody broken the sound barrier with an LSR car yet? I seem to remember some years ago about a rocket car and the goal was to break the sound barrier.

The Thrust SSC team broke the sound barrier on October 15, 1997. They ran 763 mph and created a sonic boom.

Thrust SSC is not a rocket, it uses 2 Rolls Royce jet engines

That was this car, but it wasn’t verified and how they tried to measure the speed is maddening. They really screwed it up.
