JEFFERSON, GA.'S RANDY McCLELLAND IS SEVENTH NAPA AUTO PARTS HONORARY CREW MEMBER (1 Viewer)

[coverattach=1]COMMERCE, Ga. (April 19, 2009) - Randy McClelland of Jefferson, Ga., was selected as the seventh NAPA AUTO PARTS Honorary Crew Member of the 2009 NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series today at the NHRA Southern Nationals at Atlanta Dragway.

McClelland, 50, is co-owner with his wife Barbara of All Pro Mobile Truck Repair in Jefferson, and they are in the process of becoming a NAPA Truck Service Center. They are also not new to the sport of professional NHRA drag racing. Their son-in-law Lewis Worden drove the Ash & Worden Pro Stock car in the mid-1990s, and most recently acted as test driver and crew member on Greg Stanfield's Pro Stock car in 2006.

"We would just fly out to the races from time to time and get a little bit involved, but more as spectators," said McClelland.

"We've had a shop and a mobile unit for big trucks for five years. Prior to that we had a trucking company, which we shut down over a year ago. We were servicing our own trucks and people started coming around wanting us to work on their trucks. That's when I started All Pro."

Dana Stolte, the district manager of NAPA Atlanta, helped present the award to McClelland along with NAPA AUTO PARTS Funny Car driver and points leader Ron Capps. "We had a sales contest at all of our stores," said Stolte. "The dealer had to qualify first by having a 10-percent sales increase. Then we did a random drawing from all of our 44 resale stores and picked our Gainesville, Ga., store, which is near Jefferson, and that's how McClelland was selected."

McClelland's non-wrenching crew-member duties included escorting the NAPA AUTO PARTS Dodge Funny Car to the staging lanes for the first round of eliminations today. He also helped retrieve the car at the end of the track following Capps' winning run.

"Awesome. This is such a great honor," said McClelland. "It's such a thrill because we've always loved drag racing," added Barbara. "We watch every race on TV that we don't attend, and this is awesome."

He also met and chatted with the entire NAPA AUTO PARTS Dodge Funny Car crew, was a special guest in the NAPA hospitality area throughout the day, received a NAPA team jersey, experienced an up-close-and-personal view of the NAPA crew as the team worked on the car, and enjoyed a private tour of the team transporter and pit area.

The side window of the NAPA Dodge also sported McClelland's name as this weekend's NAPA Honorary Pit Crew Member.

NAPA AUTO PARTS distribution centers at each NHRA event during the season have different criteria for choosing the persons who are potential NAPA AUTO PARTS Honorary Crew Members.
