Jack Beckman (2 Viewers)

The Moeller-Whitby-Gerard Team have known and raced Jack since he started his amazing career in drag racing with his notorious National Championship "Black Bird" SR71 themed Super Comp dragster. [Now in the NHRA Museum in Pomona, I believe]

He was a regular part of SoCal racing and we raced against him regularly at many of the SCEDA races locally. A bright, energetic kid them and a great racer and family man now.

He is a walking history book on racing and one of the nicest men you will meet.

As a reporter for www.DragRaceCentral.com he would always come by and say hello when in the Media Center for interviews!

JFR couldn't have picked a better person to represent them, both on the track and off!

The most obvious choice. I thought it would be TJ since Fast Jack has his elevator thing going. I didn't think he would be available. It works out great though, especially his familiarity with the Force family. He taught all 3 daughters, from what I understand.

I always thought Jack would get first shot at it especially since they waited for the last 8 races.

....... He's also been made active in the pick the winners game.
jack is an excellent pick for BIR PTW. john force has held trophy @ BIR A LOT!!! 10+ would be a guess.
i think it's a record amount of wins at a single venue.

Great, first he steals Bazemores ride, now he’s after Force’s. Somebody else to root against I guess.

I don't post much here these days, but I have to respond to this.

Whit Bazemore got *himself* canned by DSR. Everyone has an "@$$hole mode" they activate from time to time. It's human nature. But with Whit his "@$$hole mode" was permanently stuck in the ON position just about all the time. DSR got sick of it and had him escorted out of the building. Look how how treated Jack when he was making his licensing runs in the funny car. I understand no one wants to train their replacement, but there is a right way and a wrong way of handling things.

And he's not trying to "take" John's job. JFR asked him to fill in and he said yes. What is he supposed to do after being out of the seat almost four years, say no to driving a top 5 car?

Some people just like to stur the pot and feel relivant.

I dealt with Whit a couple different times at Ennis, and he was always nice enough to me.
But it was in the pits while the car was being prepped between rounds.
We talked about the track and how good it was. Then he asked if I knew who won a particular round.
He eventually shook my hand, thanked me for interest in his car, then got back to work on the car.
I can look past how drivers act after they just ran 300+mph, and somebody puts a camera and mic in their face. They may be a bit short with their answers but who, besides Force, feels like answering questions immediately after making a big run?
I’m sure Ron Capps might have a different opinion. But I always pulled for Whit.

Never understood why he and a few others could not get a new ride.....

Huge fan of Bazemore, especially those years in early 2000s with Lee Beard as a thorn in Force and Coil's side. Was great entertainment, and I was rooting for anyone BUT John Force, until Ashley started driving in 2007, then saw a whole new side to him, and also realized he's a LEGEND and how lucky I should feel to get to watch him race, especially in his prime. Like watching Michael Jordan for people that were into basketball. Or watching Michelle Kwan at the top of her game. Was a privilege. That's how my feelings on WJ came around.
