Just want to say I am really enjoying Jack Beckman's Hot Rod History series.

Yes, this is so cool. Jack is really a great historian. Would love to see him write a book, or? about drag racing history. There is always the question, when was the first drag race? I always think it was the first time 2 automobiles / horseless carriages decided to race to see who was fastest. 1890's? Early 1900's? I know that around 1905 or so, there was a great interest to see who was fastest. The first 100 MPH car was somewhere around that time. I read that 1879 was the first year people starting working on internal combustion engines (using kerosine as fuel).

I always thought he would make a good TV announcer. He definitely has the knowledge. And the gift of gab!
