Jack Beckman 3.921?

reminds me of the coil/force years when john couldn't lose and had the field covered at most races.
or as jack eluded to the 'prudhomme/rip your throat out' years.
i like watching dominating cars....it's impressive as hell when someone finds that perfect combination.

Just to confirm some of the earlier info in this thread the track is indeed at 15' elevation. One of the easier tracks to guesstimate the elevation because highway 37 that goes to the track is basically AT sea level and runs right along the northern shores of the bay. In places the waters almost reach the road at high tide. I'd heard the Density Altitude was around 800' Friday night when they ran the 3.92, and our weather station read 1750' at the beginning of Saturday's second session when Jack ran the 3.95. Compare that to DA's approaching 9,000' in Denver!

Incredible run by Beckman/Prock! First session nearly every car smoked by mid-track, including Beckman. But the car moved really hard until it did. Second session track had cooled about 10-15 degrees and everyone reeled it in a bit to get down the track, resulting in several mid 4.0's. So when Jack rolled up we figured he'd go 4.02, MAYBE 4-flat. But when he left it was one of those "I knew it was on a good one" runs. The whole time I'm thinking "is it going to hold?" - and it did. About as close to a perfect run as I've ever seen.

Oh, one other kudo to Prock's ability to figure things out... while everyone is getting promising results with the six-disc clutches, they were running a FIVE disc clutch in Beckman's car.
