Jack Beckman 3.921?

Google Earth shows starting line at 17' right lane, 18' left lane. Both lanes 22' at 1/4 mile. Whatever it is, they were flying! Gotta get down there some year.

According to NHRA it's 15 ft. I don't know the weather they had today, but, if it happened to be cool, dry, and cloud cover, and you could be way below sea level
Ron Capps said a big factor in the runs was a new track surface that was put down.

According to DRC they had killer conditions for sure:

8:06 p.m.Weather conditions: air temperature 68 degrees, relative humidity 68 percent, barometer 29.92 inches, adjusted altitude 1,257 feet, track temperature 84 degrees.

And I have been to that track ... Seems like it is uphill all the way out of San Francisco on the way there, though you do drop into the valley the last bit to get to the track, but according to the website, it is 15 feet.

We took the weather right before the Pro session started. It had cooled off a lot by the time the FC's ran! This was with a very strong head wind too.

The backup has to be at least a 3.960 for a new record. Not going to happen today!

Jack's run today might have been even more surprising than the 3.92 yesterday, given the track temperature and headwind. No one else could even run a three. Those two runs were shocking to me, given how no one else was even close.

I feel bad for Hagan-last night he ran 3.96 and no one noticed since it was next to Jack's 3.92!

I've read somewhere that a headwind can help plant an FC to the track, resulting in a higher load on the engine and a lower ET. I see that Mr. Schumacher is on-line, maybe he can elaborate?

Wow, at first I thought the clocks were malfunctioning, but I guess snot. It held up and Jack backed it up today. I'm sure the NHRA techs will be looking at that car real close and I'm sure they did.

JFR is toast. Prock has excelled at DSR. DSR obviously has technology much more advanced than JFR.

Lee I'm not sure Force Racing is toast. Prock and Beckman are thundering, for sure, but so are others. And Fast Jack will tell you, these are very fickle cars. I think it's cool that Force has a crew chief that is in his 20s, we need new blood.

Your right, John Force has always been about giving newcomers a place to start, Jimmy Prock wouldn't be where he's at if it hadn't been for time he spent at JFR.

DSR has the hot hand right now, but we all know with the Countdown is all about how you finish. My money is on the DSR team winning again, but you never know who will get hot when it counts.

Man, Jimmy Prock was tuning Funny Cars while still in diapers.

Not sure what they found, but their times to the 60 and 330 are insane. If they maintain this next weekend in Seattle we might be getting ready to see everyone racing for 2nd.
