That was not all that unexpected. Rumors swirled for some time but I just saw it on SportsCenter that it's official. Didn't see if somebody else already posted the news.

We're 12th in points, and I don't think Tony will be distracted at all by this leading up to the Chase.

SIGNED,
Greg Zipadelli

THE ABOVE IS OF COURSE FICTIONAL.

Maybe I'm crazy here, but I actually think he's doing good. Is it smart? Possibly. Could it all go belly up? Might. Will he end up with a better team than he has now? Almost certainly not. BUT...he has the desire to be an owner and he is working to secure a place for himself after he's done driving. I think it takes major b@lls to step away from a sure thing for the thing you really want.

Just my 2 cents...from a relative newbie to NASCAR.

I will admit, I am not a big fan of this move. I will still support Tony in the #14 Office Depot/Old Spice Chevy. We'll see if the number speculation ends up being true.

The amazing part of this deal is that it's a NO $$$ buy-in deal!

It will be interesting to see if it succeeds. I'm impressed that Zippy is staying with JGR and looking forward to the new challenge.

I wish both of them the best...and look forward to not having to wear orange anymore!!!:D I love that candy-apple red Old Spice colored car.

Tony wants to take control of his future. I think it a great move but it will be very interesting to see where Stewart Hass Racing falls in the gravey train of help from GM.

Thanks for that link Cheryl. My husband has been a big TS fan for years (when I moved in with him, the room that is now Zach's nursery was COVERED in orange), and I kinda half-heartedly joined the bandwagon. But I do believe that article just made me a full-fledged fan. It is amazing to read about how selfless one man can be.

Well I still think he's crazy for leaving Gibbs. We will see. I do understand since its a no money buyin how attractive that offer is so we will see. THough he's the one bringing most of the money now with HD.

My understanding is that HD is staying with JGR. Tony's main sponsor is supposedly Office Depot...I could be wrong. :D

You are correct, it is Office Depot and Old Spice. The announcement will come in Indy. I hope he starts winning soon and I can not think of a better race then the one tonight! Did I mention I am going tonight, should be fun as long as I stay dry.
