IHRA in the Northwest

A good friend of mine heard that Spokane is going to be an IHRA track. Actually, I heard this rumor when I was racing there this past August. Anyone have an update?

I also heard that IHRA may take over another track that is currently under NHRA rule. Not so sure on this one so I won't name the city. All I'll say is it's a nice minor league facility that knows how to draw a crowd.

yep and still might be. Its all up to the courts.

Hmm... I've been pushing for Spokane to go IHRA (and for them to get a National event) for a while. Maybe I'm the source of the rumour.

I wonder what that "NHRA track that knows how to draw a crowd" is. Mission?

But I agree that IHRA needs and MUST have some more tracks (and Nationals) in the NW if they want to be a serious competitor/alternative to NHRA.

The rumor was for Boise to join also but Boise is on the NHRA schedule so it doesn't pan out.
