has it dawned on anyone the fact that r. freeman was looking at it; what if he had acquired it?
he probably has more than a couple ideas pertaining to drag racing entertainment.
wonder what nhra brass is thinking right about now? the first wave went bust, but what about a potential next one,
like the guy who owns and puts more cars down your tracks than anyone else?

Agree, good point about Freeman - I had alluded to something similar in another thread when I wrote this (italic added here):

Maybe down the road, when the smoke clears, much as employees of a company can buy shares in their company, perhaps a collective group of racers and team owners could buy what remains of IHRA and make it a true racer-owned body?

Of the NHRA brass I have talked to, they wanted it to succeed. They knew it was good for the sport.

i have also continually brought that up about the racers AND nhra having skin in the game.

Of the NHRA brass I have talked to, they wanted it to succeed. They knew it was good for the sport.

The IHRA is the reason we have more nitro cars now than at any point in the last 15 years. The Dan Hix, Bernie Plourd Jake Sanders type race teams all had an opportunity to go race and get some laps in. Now maybe some of them will dip their toe into NHRA in the near future because they are confident they can compete for a spot in a field.
