IHRA cancels some 2026 events (16 Viewers)

not at liberty to say where i saw/heard this, but i believe there is a pending federal lawsuit.
pretty sure that may be part, and maybe a big part, of this story.
There was a case but it looks like NHRA settled it in May.

Are you talking about a new case? Who are the plaintiffs?

Read on another forum referencing information that it looks like the IHRA will have a new owner shortly and no one will be getting paid from previous events.

Mike said it was a federal lawsuit.

I could be wrong, but any lawsuits brought against the IHRA wouldn't be a federal case would it? I don't know anything about the NHRA case you're referencing but that wouldn't be federal either. I wouldn't think.

When I hear federal case I think, racketeering, monopoly, or something along those lines. Maybe wire fraud could get the feds invovled as it relates to this mess.

I wonder if Mike is referencing something up the food chain above the IHRA. maybe something to do with Darana or whoever, or whatever was funding the IHRA until the end?

Saw a post from a Christopher Eager who apparently is/was an IHRA divisional director saying that he has been let go. Apparently a few weeks ago he was given a choice of leaving or taking a 40% pay cut. He took the pay cut. Now he was told he doesn't have a choice. Would say that probably doesn't bode well for the remaining sportsman stuff.
