IHRA cancels some 2026 events (8 Viewers)

I'm hoping that some of the other organizations can find a financially profitable way to add some of the classes to their program. MMPS, Nitro Altereds, etc. PDRA, Nitro Chaos, MWDRS

Agree, hoping some of the other organizations see the value in some of those classes and give them a place to run.

MWDRS is having Pro Extreme run as an 8 car exhibition class at the last 2 races of the season and possibly will add it in 2027.

I'm pretty sure that MMPS will resurface somewhere as well, as it was one of the most exciting and heathiest classes with 20+ cars showing up at most races.

Nitro Chaos will be running on with the MWDRS at the Northern Nationals at U.S. 131 in Martin, MI on 7/31-8/1. 13 Altereds pre-entered. Looking like a pretty good show. The Peterson's do a great job there, in addition they'll be hosting NHRA Great Lakes Nationals in September. One of my favorite tracks in the Midwest.

what if all the MMPS guys banded together and found their own sponsor, the same as the PM nhra series does,
would nhra look at them as a viable class? put the same question to nhra PS and PSB, tell them to find their own sponsor.
nhra can give all their mission foods purse money to the nitro classes. suddenly the nitro fields would be full again at all the races.

That's pretty much what they did to run NHRA I thought?

The MMPS guys are scheduled to run at Norwalk's Night Under Fire through a third party effort to get them added to the program. The posts I saw say 25 cars are expected.

This was supposedly Cuttell's reply to the guy who provided contacted safety team services (divers and the like I guess) for the offshore series when asked when they could expect to be paid. Posted on FB.

I just watched a video on youtube about the MMPS guys going to Norwalk. Supposedly $50k to win & $20k for runner up. $1500 bounty for whoever takes out the #1 qualifier. The Night of Fire will be on Floracing.

It will be interesting to see how well Darryl's lawyers insulated both him personally and Darana Hybrid from the IHRA. You'd think there would be suits, and if IHRA is bankrupt but Darryl and Darana have money, that's where the lawyers will try to go. It'll also be interesting to see if any criminal cases come out of this. With all the transactions IHRA was involved in, I wonder if interstate wire or mail fraud could have occurred?

I am sure he is well insulated from all this probably Darana too. I would imagine IHRA is a stand alone entity. Making poor business decisions is not criminal.

I’ll be interested to see if he is insulated or not. Obviously making poor biz decisions is not criminal, but committing fraud is.
I’ll be interested in seeing if there was any fraud. I think given what is going on with people not getting paid, track purchases probably not going thru, racers not getting paid, etc that it’s a bit early to be ruling out fraud.

Has anyone actually found any evidence that their was 10M set aside. I know it's been brought up countless times.

But who really knows?
All the true believers kept quoting that along with saying he had dinners with Elon. I think it’s a rumor that became accepted fact. And clearly that fact was wrong or the IHRA would not appear to be paws up.

All true.

One thing I found interesting about the 10M. Assume that was true. In the whole scheme of things with the purchasing of tracks, repairing others, promoting the event, paying whatever purse monies that were paid out, I'm sure he did blow through it pretty quick. Albeit, 10M is a lot of money by anyone's standard, but not so much it can't be burned through in 2 years.

I misread your originAl post. . I read that he had set aside 10 years of funding, which would have to be a lot more that $10 million. With all he was buying and hopefully renovating, it was going to be a lot more than $10 million. The posts I read said 10 years of money was in an account somewhere, and he and Elon were having dinners.

Sometimes Real Estate purchase contracts , Especially when funds are moved around, can actually enter into mail-fraud territory. Definitely at least Breach of Contract suits would be filed if there is any money tied to IHRA. Lawyers will be racking up the hours picking through all the deals and contracts IHRA generated on this buying spree. Like most wealthy guys, D.C. will probably walk away pretty unscathed, others will pay the price. I don't think he cares about anybody else.
