IHRA cancels some 2026 events (12 Viewers)

I'm hoping that some of the other organizations can find a financially profitable way to add some of the classes to their program. MMPS, Nitro Altereds, etc. PDRA, Nitro Chaos, MWDRS

Agree, hoping some of the other organizations see the value in some of those classes and give them a place to run.

MWDRS is having Pro Extreme run as an 8 car exhibition class at the last 2 races of the season and possibly will add it in 2027.

I'm pretty sure that MMPS will resurface somewhere as well, as it was one of the most exciting and heathiest classes with 20+ cars showing up at most races.

Nitro Chaos will be running on with the MWDRS at the Northern Nationals at U.S. 131 in Martin, MI on 7/31-8/1. 13 Altereds pre-entered. Looking like a pretty good show. The Peterson's do a great job there, in addition they'll be hosting NHRA Great Lakes Nationals in September. One of my favorite tracks in the Midwest.

what if all the MMPS guys banded together and found their own sponsor, the same as the PM nhra series does,
would nhra look at them as a viable class? put the same question to nhra PS and PSB, tell them to find their own sponsor.
nhra can give all their mission foods purse money to the nitro classes. suddenly the nitro fields would be full again at all the races.

That's pretty much what they did to run NHRA I thought?

The MMPS guys are scheduled to run at Norwalk's Night Under Fire through a third party effort to get them added to the program. The posts I saw say 25 cars are expected.

This was supposedly Cuttell's reply to the guy who provided contacted safety team services (divers and the like I guess) for the offshore series when asked when they could expect to be paid. Posted on FB.

I just watched a video on youtube about the MMPS guys going to Norwalk. Supposedly $50k to win & $20k for runner up. $1500 bounty for whoever takes out the #1 qualifier. The Night of Fire will be on Floracing.
