RIP Steve Evans. 25 years ago today. Will forever be grateful for him helping me get started in the business.

I can even remember what I was doing when the news broke.
I was a Consultant in the Boating industry and was in Connecticut helping with the damage from Hurricane Bob.

Steve and Dave Mc. helped hook me on TNT Diamond P Sports. No disrespect to current broadcasters but they were really really special. Also Bob Frey.

He was actually pretty young when he died. At least by today's standards. Wasn't he just in his mid-'50's? (Too lazy tonight to look that up). And what a shame it was a heart issue as that is usually easy to find and repair. He could have lived another 20 years easy.

Steve was not only a great announcer but a great person as well who treated everyone with respect. On more than one occasion he was in our trailer asking what was new.
