I just plain love racing. ARCA puts on one great show for sure and I"ll be at Perris Auto Speedway this saturday night for the non-winged sprint cars. Its Racing

I went to Talladega a couple of weeks ago just for the ARCA race. Skipped the trucks Saturday in favor of a 100 lap late model feature at the Fairgrounds in Birmingham and then headed back to MS. Noticing the stands on Sunday, it seems many didn't feel it worth the money to see a Cup race. I can't remember the tower coming out of turn four being so empty before.

you would ask the same question after watching an IRL race too. I would rather watch Indy cars any day of the week over Nascar but I like them both. I couldnt believe after going to my first IRL race that they arent more popular. The racing was alot better than Nascar IMHO.

If the IRL had more home grown drivers, or home grown drivers that were competitive, they would probably be more popular. I love the IRL anyway.

What kind of open wheel, open cockpit car do you think people could relate to better? The engines are a sore spot for now. Talks are under way to bring other manufacturers in, in the near future.

Barry, that is a big problem for all of open wheel and the very reason NASCAR has been so popular along with american drivers.

I went all the way up to New Jersey for an ARCA race in September.

Going to both Rockingham Raceway Park events, both Pocono races and the New Jersey race next season.

ARCA is way better than NASCAR. Close finishes every race and a close championship battle without a stupid welfare points system.

I wouldn't go that far to say its WAY better but ARCA is a great series to watch. Much lower budgets to work with although many teams are being infiltrated by NASCAR as driver development programs. I hope it doesn't ruin the series.

This is the first year in a long time that the Championship battle was a close one - usually Frank Kimmel has it locked up way before the last race.

One thing about the ARCA series, the drivers are hungry so they race. Many/most people don't even know what the ARCA series is anymore since they are no longer on ESPN. Most people I told about going to Dega for the ARCA race looked at me like I had three heads. I had to explain to them that it wasn't the Busch/Nationwide series or the trucks I was going to see.

It'll for sure be on SPEED next season, and might pop up on Versus and masn as well.

That is a problem with a lot of motorsports shows. MAVTV even has a lot of Lucas on the Edge shows.
