I am seriously rethinking about putting in a removable steering wheel !

I am seriously rethinking about putting in a removable steering wheel !
In this case Column !

It's just one more little "thing" to miss or have go wrong! I'd think the driver would be ultimately responsible for making sure any retaining pin is completely engaged and locked right? Or am I wrong about that?

EDIT: I'm taking a wild guess here, but I'm thinking that driver will make sure THAT never happens again!

The wheel didn't come off, the shaft broke on the gear box. Watch when it breaks, it snaps about 6" below the quick release button.
