No prob, man... just thought that the dive comment was both unwarranted and uncharacteristic of your normal offerings.

Sooners are gonna roll this year, right up until they go under the wheels of the Gator bus.

No Tom, The only rolling is gonna be: ROLL TIDE...

see, Nebraski lo-jacked the thread without trying.... now...
any bets as to which day the race in Reading is completed? I'm calling it Wednesday afternoon...

and no, I don't fault Robert, this all came down from a pay grade way pass his.

d'kid

Pretty slick, huh, Karl? Think Alan Loder would be proud of me? I don't fault Robert either, and am not blaming JFR for using an opportunity given to them by NHRA. I don't necessarily like it, but as others have said in this and other posts, even those of us who are not big JFR fans can't blame John and his team(s) for making use of something granted to him by NHRA, regardless of how it was accomplished. And Tom was correct in calling me out on my comment about Tony diving. It's just a suspicion that I have about those days, and it is not a factual statement at all, and I try not to do much of that kind of posting of innuendos and half truths, etc. Guess I got caught up in the heat of the moment. Apologies to all. And Karl, the Cornstalk Sports Book has Tuesday as the completion day for Reading at 3 to 2, and Wednesday at 5 to 1. Youse pays ya money and youse make ya choices!;)

The NHRA re-writing of history begins. Just saw on the broadcast that they said the rule as worded at the beginning of the season applied to the team, not simply the driver. That is not how it was worded at the beginning of the season!

They all should be able to test as much as they want, if it cost a team money to test so what! The NHRA don't pay these teams to test.
If they want to run match races or IHRA (if they were still running) and make a little money than the NHRA should give them their blessing.
At the end of the day, the teams that have the cash will be near the top.

SHOE, WHAT IS THE PROBLEM! THE RULE BOOK SAYS 4 DAYS!

1 day = 24 hours, 4 days = 96 hours, your team can turn the car around in 60 minutes (1 hour), that means that in 4 days of testing one of your teams can make 96 passes. So, you have 96 passes minus the number of passes that you have already made, LEFT! You still have plenty of testing passes.

Remember the rule says 4 days. It does not say a day consists of the time period from sun-up till sun-down. It further doesn't say that the first pass starts a continuous 24 hour timer. So we must take the rule at face value and state a day consists of 24 hours cumulative.

Am I the only one that understands new college math?

I will only be available for expotential time computations via email.

I am busy the next week instructing 3 Texas congressman on the healthcare issues.

Yes, I am qualified!

Glad to be of help!

PS, Next time please put the Chinese nitro in Force's trailer. He has a better grasp on the rules!

Can we get an interpretation on this from the NJFRA? :D:D

I think it's time for some of you John Force haters to start your own funnycar team from scratch on limited funds and build such an empire as John has. Frankly, most of you make me sick!!!!

yeah that way we can be called whiners and stupid and you don't stand a chance anyway. Just like people on here are calling Terry Haddock. Who runs on a shoe string budgest and doesn't have the resources of the force empire. Seems to me that Force forgets what he had to do to get to were he is. A bit of reflection might not hurt.
I am not a force fan or force hater. Just get tired of the rambling and better treatment. Call it how you want but that is what it was.

Not a force lover or hater, but when you think about it, IF force only ran 3 test sessions with his car then it shouldnt matter who drives it. They're testing the cars setup, not the driver. If doug k. and a prior engagment and hillary w. ran the 4th test it wouldnt be a big deal either. Now, if they had already used 4 sessions and it was the 5th on, THEN it would be a problem.

BTW, what about off season testing? And what about people not in the coutdown? I guess they can test all the want after indy. LOL :D

John a friend of yours Jon?

How do you have ANY idea what John remembers and what he's forgotten?

Bit of a stretch on your part to assume that John has forgotten his history- one that does not apply in this day and age of modern NHRA Drag Racing (although, in a warped kind of way, it does... There has always been a few teams throughout the history of the sport that knew to put themselves in a better place by building the better "mousetrap"...)

This is just nothing more than a savy businessman seeing a chink in the newly minted armor and taking advantage of an opportunity, all the while playing by the rules as they were laid out to everyone...

Nice job on being smarter than the Association, JF- now how about retiring and taking over the whole mess and doing something to make it better?

NO we disagree not a stretch. Everything isn't about John Force Racing. What shows me he forgot. He complains he didn't get coverage no one gave him the time of day. What is he doing to everyone now ? Do we watch the same tv coverage ? Sorry Martin we disagree here. If he wanted the lower people to have some time he would say HEY GARY talk to densham or talk to Terry Haddock. Haven't heard that

John is one of those racers that has more than once dragged another driver into his interview over the years, especially those that didn't know how to command the mic (back in the old Diamond P days...) like he could.

Yes, like everyone else, he has become a 30 second talking advertisment. But he also knows how to make an interview interesting at the end of a pass. The same can not be said of MANY of the guys and gals climbing out of these things at the end of the track....

But Mr. York if I may ask for a clairification on the "time travel clause". Say my team is based on EDT and I test in say Vegas PDT could I not then be eligible for a 27 hour test day?

As well this testing rule is in place to reduce costs, correct? What if I wanted to contend for both IHRA and NHRA championships? Would I have to have two completly different teams to avoid any penalties? Can I use the same crew chief? Seems like restraint of free trade if you ask me.

He and his four cars are, shamefully, ALL they have, PR wise.

Example: cutting into a TOP FUEL qualifying run to interview a Force person on the TV show.

AND, don't forget, FMC is now the official purveyor of vehicles to National Hot Rod (they hate that name).

It's ironic that the OTHER Ford team won today!

I'm sure it's been decreed that ALL Force cars (with their difficult to tune, problematic, chassis) MUST be in the cockamayme "CHASE" or whatever they call it.

An example of my complaint is He had to go weigh himself on the scale and espn had to re-interview him to verify ashley was light. Are they going to reverse there decision if it weighed him at the correct weight. I can answer that YES. Because we would have heard him whining and screaming and carrying on till they bent his way. I could be wrong but i don't think so. Then we would have heard about it for the next few interviews. When schumacher passed the scales and tried to go back they dq'ed him. That was good for what 10 minutes of tv time.

BS. They were letting Robert get used to John's car. John's car was running just fine -- that's why they put him in that car, to get him in the countdown in the better running car.

4-5 passes in a car isn't enough time to get used to it. They test even if the car is doing fine. If they can.
