It wasn't held up for long - Yankees MLB game was switched to another network! I was at the race - NASCAR's economic power just amazes me.
Local Miller Beer reps have two motorhome spots in the infield - $1200 bucks PLUS $90 per person for the required armband. And . . . Miller Brand (national) has a larger Corporate area above the backstretch - $22,500 per race (have to commit for both races at PIR to secure a spot). Despite rumors to the contrary - I saw no vacant spots in the infield or in corporate areas..
I could not see any empty seats in the grandstands - almost 100,000 people paying a minimum of $50 to sit for 3 1/2 hours. Outside of being in an enclosed suite, conversation is almost impossible and if you don't have a scanner, you have NO idea what is happening.
By the way - the race SUCKED ! Why was I there (you ask ) ?
Customer invited me - ya gotta keep em happy.
