Herbert/Irwin

I went and sent an email as well, but I guarantee you that had Irwin found NHRA marketable they would have gotten onboard long ago! These companies are always looking for new venues to promote their products. Sponsoring Doug H for 2 races is a Far cry for carrying a team for 23 races!

Done....also..If you watched the NASCAR race from Bristol the week before Charlotte, Herbert's car was there wrapped in IRWIN TOOLS colors there as well. The whole project started because they invite Herbert to Bristol every year to whack the throttle on a TF car for the NASCAR nation....Irwin Tools is sponsoring the August Bristol night race and the track's tool sponsor...replacing MAC Tools, which has been there for years..So...the deal was born out of IRWIN's sponsorship in NASCAR and if we participate, may spill over into NHRA. That's how it works people....

Them Neckcar fans would crap themselves if they could figure out a way for Doug to do a little launch with full header flames at that night race.

Joe, don't underestimate this Irwin deal. In Doug's blog, he states that he took a shot and wrapped his car in Irwin colors for that NASCAR fire-up deal, and they were impressed enough to give him a 2-Charlotte deal. And, the first one went so well that they are looking to do more! There are companies out there that we don't know exist, and similarly, they may not be aware of drag racing. I think it's great for Doug, and good for him for taking a risk. I just read where Bernstein's very 1st Bud deal was only for 25K. Seemed to have blossomed a bit after that...

everything has to start somewhere... even if 2 races leads to 8 its still another sponsored car out there
