Helmet Painters? (1 Viewer)

The Counterfeiter

Nitro Member
I'm going to take a ride in a two seat IRL car on Tuesday before the 2008 Indy 500. Four laps - speed is limited to only 185 mph.
Once in a lifetime opportunity . . . I want to have my "Counterfeiter" art on my helmet for photos. If there is a Mater who can do this right, I want to hear from you!
Or . . . if you are a Mater who has a friend who would like take this on, let me know. - Jim

I know a guy who will probably trade hero cards for painting your helmet since he's a past customer and you know him quite well. Check out his work:

I went to Talladega last month and went 181.91 MPH. It was the thrill of a lifetime!!! There you are the driver and the instructor rides in the right side seat and gives you hand signals. He has no steering wheel or brake pedal. The instructor could not understand why i only wanted to get 5 feet from the wall on the back straight. I wish i had done this years earlier.

I did the stock one at Fontana. Ran 172 and it was awesome. If you get a chance, DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh Please Mikey,
You go faster than that with your chutes out in the 1/4 mile.

Wow Jim, that is BEYOND cool. The closest I can come to that is, I worked on the Media/escort crew for the 2005 Champ Car Grand-Prix in Denver. We escorted the few people who were invited to ride in the Champ Car 2-seater from the Pepsi Center Media room out to the 2-seater car in the pits. Good luck my Nitromater brother, and HAVE FUN. I highly, HIGHLY recommend you get your laps on video. The 2-seater race vehicle is an amazing concept. I've been saying for a while now, "Someone" out there needs to build a nitro-fueled quarter-mile drag race version. If it ever happens, It will set the motorsports world on its ear. Have a great time - and I KNOW you will ... and be sure to tell us all about it.
