Harker looking to rebound in Dallas

ENNIS, Texas - Following a disappointing first round loss at last weekend's Division 4 event at Houston Raceway Park, Aussie NHRA Top Alcohol Funny Car racer Steve Harker will be looking to rebound at this weekend's O'Reilly Fall Nationals presented by Castrol at the Texas Motorplex just south of Dallas. Harker enters the event sixth in national points and hopes to gain a few spots this weekend.

Harker, originally from Brisbane, Aus., but now resides stateside, has enjoyed success at the Motorplex. Last year, he qualified No. 1 at this event, and reached the finals at a Lucas Oil Divisional event here earlier in the year.

"We usually run good here," said Harker. "We really enjoy racing on the national event surfaces. The NHRA track crew really does a great job of prepping the tracks. This is our last national event we can claim towards points, so we need to make it past the second round to gain any points. Hopefully we can put it all together and get our first national win of the year."

"It's going to be a tough race," Harker added. "Looking at the entry list, there is a lot of tough cars here. There will be no easy rounds. We'll just try to stay consistent like we did in Indy."

Qualifying begins on Friday and concludes on Saturday. Eliminations begin with round one on Saturday afternoon and will conclude the event on Sunday.
