GT Tonglet qualifies for first NHRA race since 2006 (1 Viewer)

ENGLISHTOWN, N.J. – GT Tonglet’s return to NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle competition this year officially begins Sunday in the first round of the SuperNationals at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park.

Tonglet drove the Tonglet Racing Nitro Fish entry into the 15th starting berth with an elapsed time of 6.951 seconds at 191.19 mph. He meets Karen Stoffer (No. 2, 6.826 at 195.79) in his first competitive Full Throttle Drag Racing Series action since 2006.

“That wasn’t where we would have liked to qualify,” he commented, “but it is a lot better than 18th and 19th. We’re working on calming the tune-up for Sunday. It was too aggressive and the bike didn’t like it.

“We still don’t have enough passes on it to know how fast it is. We’re looking for a set-up so we will know what the chassis wants. We’ll get it, but it just takes time.”
