BRAINERD, Minn. – For most of his seven Pro Stock Motorcycle races this season, GT Tonglet has attempted to find a combination his new Nitro Fish/Tonglet Racing Suzuki GSXR would turn into competitive times and speeds.

He’ll be trying again this weekend in the Lucas Oil Nationals at Brainerd International Raceway after making additional changes when he didn’t qualify at Sonoma, Calif. He has qualified three times and can point to his outing at Englishtown, N.J. in June as his best on the new machine designed by Gary Tonglet, his father and the team owner.

GT was 15th with a best of 6.951 seconds at 191.51 mph in New Jersey and gave Karen Stoffer a close race with a 6.929-second quarter-mile run. He upset top qualifier Hector Arana Jr. in the next race at Norwalk, Ohio to earn his first round win.

“We did rewire the bike again and changed ignitions to see if that would help us at Brainerd,” Tonglet pointed out. “We are about out of parts to swap at this point. It has been frustrating. We hope all goes well this weekend.”
