STANFIELD SITTING EIGHTH HEADING INTO SUNDAY
BOSSIER CITY, LA (May 21, 2011) – Stanfield and his J&T Racing, Nitrofish, Coffman Tanks Trucks, Indicom Electric Pontiac GXP team wanted more out of qualifying. But they will play the cards that they were dealt and give it all they’ve got.
Stanfield came into the event sitting fourth in points, and after a rough weekend in Atlanta last time out, he hopes to get those points back tomorrow.
After running well on Friday and putting himself into the fifth position, the Pontiac GXP team fell a bit on Saturday in the line up. He moved to eighth going into Sunday’s eliminations. Stanfield ran a 6.676 et at 205.76 mph to secure that spot.
“Our car was slow today,” said Stanfield. “We are going to fix it before tomorrow. We ran good on Friday, so we will just tune it up and get back on that track.”
Eliminations get underway Sunday at 11 a.m. CST at Heartland Park in Topeka, Kansas.
