NOT THE WEEKEND STANFIELD WANTED
BOSSIER CITY, LA (May 15, 2011) – Greg Stanfield arrived at the Atlanta Dragway just one point out of the Full Throttle Championship point standings, however after a rough weekend Stanfield is more than ready to move on.
After qualifying in the 14th spot, Stanfield and team decided to change it up a bit. Tweaking their set up that they had been running the whole weekend; they changed everything come Sunday.
Having to run against Allen Johnson first round seemed to be a bad place to be. Stanfield left on Johnson and did all he could, however it proved to not be enough. Johnson would be the fastest car of the round and would send Stanfield home early.
Not losing a first round since before the Countdown last year, Stanfield and his J&T Racing, Nitrofish, Coffman Tank Trucks, Indicom Electric Pontiac GXP will be poised and ready to strike at the next race.
“We definitely didn’t have the weekend we wanted,” said Stanfield. “We started the weekend by trying some new stuff. However, before first round we decided to go back to basics. We actually ran great first round, just had to run the wrong guy. We will be fine come Topeka.”
The NHRA Full Throttle Series heads to Topeka, Kansas next weekend.
